CLOCK CASE RESTORATION CLASS
Oct 25-26, 2003

This class was taught by Craig Burgess. In the class photo from left-to-right, we have: (Front Row) Carolyn and Ron Hollien; (Middle Row) Bruce Wooldridge, John Tope, Dan Cole; (Back Row) Brett Harper, Del Timmes, Craig Burgess (Instructor) and Phil Ball. Not shown because he was taking the photo is Bill Anderle.

The class was quite successful. We covered finishing and gluing using period-type materials. Bill Anderle demonstrated making molding from scratch.

Brett Harper brought a clock with the finish being black from age. After cleaning the finish, a beautiful clock was revealed.
Phil Ball restoring a rosewood OG using period veneer.
Dan Cole is assessing his Vienna style clock case after cleaning it with naphtha. Dan had to determine if he should remove the old finish or not. He decided that he would.
Del Timmes polishes up his shelf clock.
This must be serious! John Tope has to check his notes before proceeding!
Carolyn Hollien works on her clock while husband Ron supervises.
